Installing the Workflow Subscriber

The Workflow Subscriber is one of the primary components that must be individually installed to use Workflow 8. It can be installed on either the same machine as the Workflow Designer and/or Server, or on a different machine.

Note: During the installation process, you may be prompted to install required Windows components. More info.

Note: The Windows Message Queuing component must be manually installed before you start the Workflow Subscriber installation. If it is not, you will not be able to complete the installation wizard. More info.

To install the Workflow Subscriber

  1. Open the Laserfiche Workflow autorun. A menu displaying installation options will appear.

    2. Important: There are separate Workflow Subscriber installations for Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Database. To ensure you install the correct version, use the appropriate autorun (e.g., if you prefer to use Microsoft SQL Server as your Workflow DBMS, use the Microsoft SQL Server autorun, not the Oracle Database autorun). In addition, use the same DBMS for both the Workflow Server and Subscriber (e.g., do not use Microsoft SQL Server for the Workflow Server and Oracle Database for the Workflow Subscriber).

  2. Select Install 32-bit Laserfiche Workflow or Install 64-bit Laserfiche Workflow.
  3. Click Install Laserfiche Workflow Subscriber.
  4. Select a language for the installation wizard to be displayed in and click OK.

    Note: This setting only applies to the Workflow Subscriber installation wizard. It does control the language that will be used for any other Workflow components or wizards.

  5. In the installation wizard's Welcome step, click Next.
  6. In the Locate Laserfiche License step, specify the location of your Laserfiche Workflow license. Click Next.
  7. In the License Agreement step, read the terms of the license agreement. If you accept the terms, select I accept the terms in the license agreement and click Next.
  8. In the Destination Folder step, specify where you want to install the Workflow Subscriber. Click Next.
  9. In the Ready to Install the Program step, click Install.
  10. At the end of the installation, click Finish.

    Note: You must configure the Workflow Subscriber after installing it.
